| IXOS-ECONSERVER FOR MICROSOFT EXCHANGE Take
The Brakes Off Your Exchange Server! Cut the administrative cost
of your eMail infrastructure. Swap out eMail documents and attachments - and take
the load off your Microsoft Exchange databases. Watch backup and restore operations
pick up speed. Have your archived eMails and public folders stored securely. Let
your users keep working in their familiar environment - but without the annoyance
of mailbox limits. The IXOS-eCONserver for Microsoft Exchange (Release
1.7) now also supports Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Exchange Server 2000
and the new Active Directory infrastructure in Microsoft Windows 2000 in addition
to the popular Microsoft Windows NT (Version 4.0) and Microsoft Exchange Server
(Version 5.5) system platforms. Let Your Mailboxes
- And Administrators - Breathe Again! Sending documents electronically
has become an integral part of the world in which we live and work. More and more
documents seem to change hands every day. This increases the pressure to find
an efficient way of managing the rising tide of documents. Increasingly, the standard
tools for managing Microsoft Exchange servers are straining at their limits.
Bloated eMail databases mean that service intervals cannot be kept to and prevent
backups from being performed at the scheduled times. Mailboxes are full to bursting,
which also stops your people from working effectively. But is it really always
the system administrator's fault? IXOS-eCONserver for Microsoft Exchange
solves the problem by archiving eMails and their attachments, which eases the
burden on the Exchange database. The IXOS solution makes the administrator's job
easier - but also helps users to archive documents interactively. Familare folder
structures are retained in their entirety. The rules-based archiving of eMails
and public folders is a source of welcome relief to administrators. Once it is
set up, the system runs like clock-work. Every night, once a week, or however
often you define. With no need for any further human intervention!

Business As Usual For Mail Users Your users
continue to work in Microsoft Outlook, as before. The only thing which indicates
that an eMail or attachment is in fact archived is a new icon in the form of a
CD. This icon means that the original mail has been replaced by a 1-Kb link. The
mail and its contents are now stored away safely in the archive, but can be retrieved
again simply by double-clicking the left mouse button at any time. The
benefits are obvious. The Microsoft Exchange database grows smaller. You spend
less on administration. Administrators are relieved of routine tasks. And backups
can again be completed successfully at the stipulated service intervals. More
mailboxes can be managed per server. And you also save on hardware costs as you
need less servers and hard disk systems. A fast return on investment
is guaranteed. IXOS-eCONtent for Microsoft Exchange does away with the
need for PST files to swap out eMails. Where you have already generated PST files,
however, these too can be archived automatically on request. |
