OptoMedia deliver 1,000 seat IXOS e-Con email archiving deal for the NHS Information Authority

OptoMedia have installed a 1TB DVD-RAM library with email archive management and archiving software into the National Health Service Information Authority. Archiving data from their main Microsoft Windows Exchange server to a central archive server and DVD-RAM library with no administrative intervention. In conjunction with Converas' knowledge management suite users and administrators can search and examine email accounts, even of those emails that have been deleted within the archive.

 

OptoMedia install OTG DiskXtender deal with BAA plc

OptoMedia have installed the first 5.6TB DVD-RAM library into Gatwick Airport, archiving data from seven Windows NT4 servers to one central library with no administrative intervention. Once the data has been removed from the server and backed up within the library, the backup copy is removed for secure storage offsite. The volume of data on the resource servers can then grow beyond the currently limited available disk space without the need to add more server or primary storage capacity.

 

OptoMedia appointed as distributor for Disc/NSM Storage

Disc/NSM produce a range of DVD-RAM and DVD-R libraries starting with a capacity of 120 slots (564GB) and going up to 605 slots (5546GB) in a single library. For more information.

OptoMedia Expand JVC Product Ranges distributed

EmailXtender Archive (EXA) delivers an easy way to manage the capacity of Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes servers by copying then linking attachments to an archive server. DVD-R Copier

The DV-100 DVD-Recordable copier allows one or two copies of a DVD-ROM or Video disc to be made on the fly from a master DVD-R disc.

Falcon 168 - CDR Copier

The Falcon 168 CDR copier supports up to four 8 or 12x CD-Recorders, and is designed to support up to three 16x CD-Recorders (when available). Based on the software and operation of the previous Falcon series of CDR copiers, an optional hard disk can be installed to cache disc images, or to build compilation CDs.

New MiniRAID II

With immediate effect the new MiniRAID II EIDE-EIDE RAID Level One mirroring controller and chassis with space for two 1" high hot swap drives and integral cooling is available. As with all OptoMedia RAID solutions no further drivers are required ensuring the products are compatible with the widest range of processors, motherboards, and operating/network systems. With EIDE drive capacities of up to 70+GB now available the MiniRAID is even better placed to protect critical data in small organsisations and accounts departments.


New MaxiRAID LVD & SE

With immediate effect the new MaxiRAID SCSI-EIDE RAID controllers and chassis are shipping from OptoMedia, with a capacity of up to 350GB in a single chassis the MaxiRAID is very cost competative compared to SCSI-SCSI RAID solutions, while still delivering performance of up to 80MB/s on LVD SCSI (now supplied as standard). In the external chassis dual power supplies are standard while serial diagnostics and modem connection for faxing drive errors/failures are standard on this product range.

8x CD-Recorders now supplied as standard

With immediate effect all OptoMedia CDR copiers are now supplied with 8x CD-Recorders as standard. Copying data at 8x speed enables a full (650Mb) CD to be copied in less than 11 minutes. We still recommend audio is not copied any faster than 4x speed, and 80 minute CDRs should be copied at 1x speed.
