POWER SERIES
PowerRAID from OptoMedia is the ideal storage solution for large file and application servers, where data resilliance is essential. There are four variations of the PowerRAID series of RAID solutions.
There are two drive interface options, including UltraWide SCSI II and Single Connector Attach (SCA), in addion there are two chassis options, a free standing tower chassis, or a 19" rack mount option. Performance and characteristics of all members of the PowerRAID family are consistent beyond these two sets of options. Implementing RAID Levels 0, 1, 0+1, 3 and 5 the PowerRAID is capable of handling all data requirements in a professional environment. Indeed across configurable data sets, it is possible to implement different RAID levels on different partitions on the same drives. RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) protects computer systems from single points of failure, typically this single point of failure is the data storage, the hard disk drive.
While dual power supplies (standard) and dual host channels permit intelligent server clustering software to transpose one set of users from one server to the mirror/parallel server in times of failure or maintenance. This transition is seamless to the user, although where two heavily used servers are used in parallel the combination of the joint users may impact the network performance of the remaining server.
The optional temperature module and Network Attach Storage (NAS) controller allow the system to be monitored for temperature changes, and the NAS permits the RAID to be directly attached to either a Windows NT, Novell or NFS network without a server.
