| FIBRE CHANNEL SCSI |
| Using suitable adapters and repeaters it is possible
to expand Fibre Channel up to 30km. At speeds of up to 1G/bit it is
possible to run two SCSI Ultra channels in parallel over a single
Fibre Channel. |
| In addition to the Fibre Channel SCSI Bridge there is
also a 64 bit PCI Fibre Channel adapter card, and Fibre Channel hub.
|
| Fibre channel is a cost effective means of distributing
SCSI peripherals (libraries and tape drives, RAID solutions etc) between
different sites, where a resilliant archive/redundant storage solution
is required at speeds equalling those of a local storage peripheral.
|
| Fibre Channel SCSI bridges can co-exist on fibre channel
with other network devices and traffic. |
